✹ For today's Wisdom Letter, we have carefully curated five bite-sized quotes from the Serbian-American inventor and electrical engineer, Nikola Tesla (1856–1943).
Quote № 01:
“The mind is sharper and keener in seclusion and uninterrupted solitude. No big laboratory is needed in which to think. Originality thrives in seclusion free of outside influences beating upon us to cripple the creative mind. Be alone, that is the secret of invention; be alone, that is when ideas are born.”
— Nikola Tesla, “An Inventor's Seasoned Ideas”
Quote № 02:
“The scientific man does not aim at an immediate result. He does not expect that his advanced ideas will be readily taken up. His work is like that of the planter — for the future. His duty is to lay the foundation for those who are to come, and point the way. He lives and labors and hopes.”
— Nikola Tesla, “Radio Power Will Revolutionize the World”
Quote № 03:
“Money does not represent such a value as men have placed upon it. All my money has been invested into experiments with which I have made new discoveries enabling mankind to have a little easier life.”
— Nikola Tesla
Quote № 04:
“Let the future tell the truth and evaluate each one according to his work and accomplishments. The present is theirs; the future, for which I really worked, is mine.”
— Nikola Tesla
Quote № 05:
“Throughout space there is energy. Is this energy static or kinetic! If static our hopes are in vain; if kinetic — and this we know it is, for certain — then it is a mere question of time when men will succeed in attaching their machinery to the very wheelwork of nature.”
— Nikola Tesla, “Experiments With Alternate Currents Of High Potential And High Frequency”

✺ Today’s Questions
Three philosophical questions to foster your curiosity:
Question № 01:
How does technology, particularly social media, impact the experience of solitude in the modern world?
Question № 02:
Does money inherently corrupt human values, or is it merely a reflection of the values we hold as individuals and as a society?
Question № 03:
Can we ever truly know if our reality is objective, or are we limited to subjective interpretations of the world?

I think that forms of experience that radiate from individual points of awareness (the only form of awareness we know) are subjective. This is why we must create the false dichotomy of subject-object to explain our perceptions. Reality itself is probably a unified whole, but because we experience existence through “awareness” we must divide reality into objects and perceptions of objects. Although this is our experience of reality, it is probably not reality itself. Therefore, I think we are condemned to experience the world subjectively as long as we are aware of it, and will not experience it at all when our awareness stops. Note that having no experience at all is also a form of subjective experience, in this case a nullified experience. Our choices seem to be, 1) believe in and act on the everyday illusions of perception, 2) see through the illusions but continue acting as if they are real (because for some unknown reason life works better that way), or 3) reject the illusions, lose your subjective anchor to reality, and go insane. Interesting trap!
Rings true with me. I am most productive when I roll out of bed. The creative juices are flowing and the household is asleep.
