At age 82 my favorite quote of these as you might have guessed is #3 and my favorite question is also #3. Thanks for your efforts. Today most individuals possess too many random facts which they equate to meaningful knowledge and are far too busy with small and mundane thoughts to attempt to utilize those facts and that information to attain wisdom and insight.
At what point should the pursuit of a goal, especially one requiring immense sacrifice, be re-evaluated, and how does one reconcile ambition with limitations?
The advice given by Dave Chappelle's father to Dave comes to mind when reading this question, "Name your price at the beginning, and if it ever gets more expensive than the price you name, get out of there."
Upon embarking on any journey of ambition, we should have a clear idea on the boundaries which we are not willing to compromise, and although they may change slightly over time, ensuring we have boundaries will subconsciously allow us to re-evaluate and reconcile our pursuits.
